Here's another angle on this shot. There's been quite a bit of erosion, so it's hard to identify this location now.

Mexican Hollywood Update!

According to my dad's friend Luke,
"Mexican Hollywood was on harbor blvd between the bridge and the fire house", which I just confirmed by way of this article from the Ranting Links. This area is now a large pice of asphalt known as Berth 93. Also see this page for some pics (& dancing GIFs).

Thanks to Luke and my dad for the info!

Here is Sunken City now. It has eroded quite a bit. I shot this picture from nearly the same angle as this one purely by coincedence.

They only say "San Pedro" once in The Usual Suspects, but they pronounce it wrong. My shot has no palm trees. I think they were a lot farther away.

I think these posts are getting lamer. What do you think?

Photos are coming as soon as I can get together with my Dad to take them. (His camera is much better than mine.) Hopefully in less than a week.

Ghost World part 2

Corner of Mesa & 6th St.

As seen in Ghost World.

I'm pretty sure there's never been a bus stop on this corner.

"Oh look, there he is. "
"As always."
"Waiting for the bus that never comes."
"I wonder if he's just totally insane, or he really thinks the bus is coming?"
"Why don't you just ask him?"

Mesa St., San Pedro, CA

"Hey, look. There's the pants. "

I'm going to try to post more regularly, maybe even every day, but I'll try not to post less than once a week (without a good reason).

I've gotten some good suggestions as far as movies go, but I could always use more. Also, if anyone knows where the San Pedro scenes of Chinatown were filmed (besides Point Fermin), I'd appreciate the heads up.

Photos coming soon! (Hopefully.)
